Brightspace Quiz Question Converter
Note: Please use this process if you would like to import your quiz questions directly into the CourseLink Question Library. CourseLink Support does offer a question upload service using the Respondus 4.0 software.
The Quiz Question Converter helps you prepare and import question banks into the Question Library, making questions available for use in quizzes, self-assessments, and surveys without having to recreate them manually.
To import questions in bulk, CourseLink (Brightspace) requires a specially formatted CSV file. The Quiz Question Converter simplifies this process by allowing you to create your questions in a Word document and then convert them into a Brightspace-compatible CSV file for import. Downloading Quiz Question Converter
To use the Quiz Question Converter in your own CourseLink course, first download the Quiz_Question_Converter.zip file.
In Brightspace, navigate to Course Admin.
Select Import/Export/Copy Components.
Choose Import Components.
Select Import a Brightspace Package.
Upload the Quiz_Question_Converter.zip file you downloaded.
Complete the import process by following the on-screen prompts.
Once the import is complete, the Quiz Question Converter will be available within your course, allowing you to convert properly formatted question files into a CSV file that can be imported into the Brightspace Question Library.
Use the Quiz Question Converter
After importing the package, open the Quiz Question Converter from the Content area of your CourseLink course site.
Important: Keep the Quiz Question Converter hidden from students, as it is intended for instructor use only.
The converter includes a template and formatting instructions for creating a .txt file containing your quiz questions. Once your questions have been formatted correctly, copy and paste the content into the Quiz Question Converter.
The converter will generate a file that can be imported into your CourseLink Question Library, allowing you to add multiple questions at once instead of creating them individually. If you would like the questions to be uploaded to a separate section in the Question Library, please create the section before importing. New sections are not created automatically during the import process.
